Hannis T. Bourgeois, LLP Elects New Partners and Director for 2025

BATON ROUGE – January 10, 2025 – Hannis T. Bourgeois, LLP (“HTB”), Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisors is proud to announce it has elected Daniel Darensbourg, CPA and Michelle D. Garbiras, CPA as Partners of the firm effective January 1, 2025. In addition, Elizabeth A. Hampton, CPA has been elected Associate Partner, and Claire D. Harrell, SHRM-CP has been elected Director and Chief Operating Officer, also effective January 1, 2025.

Daniel Darensbourg, CPA joined HTB in 2008. Based in the Baton Rouge office, Daniel serves clients in a variety of industries with a focus on non-profit organizations and construction. He also provides audit services for employee benefit plans to many clients in these industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (“LCPA). Michelle D. Garbiras, CPA joined HTB in 2014 after 20 years working in both industry and public accounting throughout Louisiana, Georgia, and South Carolina. Based in HTB’s Baton Rouge office, she collaborates closely with clients to provide tax preparation, planning, and consulting for small businesses, non-profits, and individuals. Michelle also works on various consulting engagements related to business operations. Before joining HTB, she was the CFO for a non-profit which gave her invaluable experience and knowledge in the not-for-profit industry. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (“LCPA”). Elizabeth A. Hampton, CPA joined HTB ten years ago and is based in HTB’s Hammond, La. office. She guides clients in the areas of tax planning strategies and business consulting. Elizabeth is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (“LCPA”). She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University and a M.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University. Claire D. Harrell, SHRM-CP joined HTB in 2019 in the Operations Department as the Human Resources Manager. As newly appointed COO, she serves an internal role in the day-to-day operations of HTB. She assists in the strategic direction and growth of the firm. Claire is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”) and the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management (GBR SHRM). She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University and is a Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
